Martin Weiland

Special Representative for the Implementation of the Points of Single Contact for Employers, BMAS

Martin Weiland has worked on labour market policy issues at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in various positions, from Division Head to Deputy Department Head, from 1991 to 2011. He then worked at the Federal Chancellery, where he managed the group responsible for labour market, social and health policy, for a period of ten years. In 2022, he returned to the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs as Special Representative of State Secretary Dr. Schmachtenberg. Among other topics, he is responsible for the development of a National Action Plan against labour exploitation and forced labour, in close cooperation with the federal states. Herein the development of fair working conditions for all employees in Germany is particularly important as an expression of an active and vibrant social partnership.
