Anne-Kathrin Krug

Legal Research Associate, Independent National Rapporteur Mechanism on trafficking in human beings, DIMR

Since November 1, 2022, Anne-Kathrin Krug has been working as a legal research associate at the Independent National Rapporteur Mechanism on Trafficking in Human Beings at the German Institute for Human Rights (DIMR). Previously, she worked as a legal research associate at the DIMR in the project "Planning and Pilot Phase for Two Reporting Offices on Gender-Based Violence and Human Trafficking."

From 2011 to 2021, she worked partly as a self-employed lawyer in Berlin. Her initial focus areas were in social, family, and criminal law. Later, she specialized in representing victims of sexualized violence in criminal proceedings (as a co-plaintiff representative) and in family court proceedings. During her time as a lawyer, she became acquainted with specialized counseling centers and the Network against Trafficking in Human Beings (KOK e.V.). KOK e.V. commissioned her to conduct two studies, one on the implementation of the Human Trafficking Directive (Directive 2011/36/EU) and another on the implementation of victim rights in criminal investigations.
